I painted the series The Whisper of Hands between 2006 and 2008 in my studio, El carámbano Bermellón (The Vermilion Icicle). Through these works, I wanted to capture the secret life that dwells in hands. Every gesture, every movement, contains an emotion, a suspended moment, a whisper of the soul that escapes through the skin. They are not just hands: they are memories, impulses, invisible bonds that connect us to the world and to ourselves. In this series, hands are transformed into the purest language, where the body is silent, but the spirit speaks. Each painting is born from the desire to capture that small moment that often goes unnoticed: a touch, a surrender, a creation, a resistance. The colors accompany the pulse of each emotion: red and yellow vibrate with vital force, while greens invite us to let go, to let flow. The blurred backgrounds suggest that, despite the outside noise, the true center is always in the essential gesture. “The whisper of hands” is my way of honoring the silent beauty of everyday life, which reminds us that even in the simplest gesture lies the whole story of who we are.
